pre and post natal fitness professional, already certified
as a personal fitness trainer, takes additional hours of
education specializing in exercise programs for pregnancy
and the post partum period. The specialty certified trainer
is abreast of the most current guidelines and precautions
for exercise during this very special time. This fitness
professional helps expecting and post natal moms achieve
fitness and wellness with an exercise program that is specially
designed based on the client’s level of health and
fitness.
STS fitness professional Linda Rudd, is certified by Moms
in Motion, a specialty certificate developed by SCW, one
of the leading continuing education providers for fitness
professionals. The Moms in Motion specialty certificate covers
the physiological changes that occur with pregnancy and exercise
adaptations necessary for each stage of pregnancy as well
as the benefits, risks, and contraindications of exercise
during pregnancy. The Moms in Motion curriculum teaches fitness
professionals how to design yoga, weight training and water
fitness programs modified for pregnancy. Most importantly
a pre and post natal fitness professional of any certifying
agency adheres to the American College of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists guidelines for exercise during pregnancy and
the American College of Sports Medicine guidelines.
